Some links on this site are affiliate links. This page explains exactly what that means, how you can tell, and — more importantly — how it does and doesn't affect what we recommend.
What an affiliate link is
When you click certain links to tools or platforms mentioned on this site (Upwork, Fiverr, survey sites, investment apps, and similar) and then sign up or make a purchase, we may earn a commission from that platform. This costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the same whether you arrive through our link or by typing the address in yourself.
How to tell which links are affiliate links
Every affiliate link on this site is marked with a small "(affiliate)" label right next to it, and routes through a /go/ link on our own domain before reaching the destination — that's a tracked redirect, not a way of hiding where you're going. If a link doesn't carry that label, it isn't an affiliate link; we don't apply the label to links that aren't actually paying us, because that would be its own kind of dishonesty.
What affiliate income does not do
Commission never decides what gets recommended or how it's ranked. We'd rather point you to the platform that genuinely fits what you're trying to do and lose a referral than steer you toward a worse option because it pays more. In practice this means:
- Some tools mentioned on this site pay no commission at all — they're listed because they're useful.
- Where two platforms are genuinely comparable, we say so, rather than quietly favouring the one that pays.
- Reviews and comparisons describe real trade-offs — fees, limitations, who a platform doesn't suit — not just the upside.
Which programs we currently use
As of this page's last update, this site is not yet enrolled in every affiliate program its content mentions — some links currently point to a platform's official site directly with no commission attached, ahead of formal approval. We update a link's status the moment a program is approved rather than presenting a pending relationship as an active one.
Advertising, separately
This site also carries display advertising (AdSense and similar networks) that isn't tied to specific content recommendations. See the privacy policy for how those networks use data.
